Class: UndecomposedDurationAxisError
Defined in: shared/pricing/qualify.ts:56
Thrown when a line's base price declares a duration axis (per), the line
did NOT decompose into per-period sub-units, and a matched rule's
qualification genuinely varies per sub-unit.
Why this exists again after PLA-280
PLA-280 taught the enumerator to decompose two-axis lines, and this guard was deleted on the reasoning that its case could no longer arise. That was wrong — review found several paths where two-axis decomposition legitimately bails, and each one lands back on a single atomic sub-unit:
- no line range whose fields match every varying condition, leaving no safe span to step.
- a billed duration count that disagrees with that range's step count.
- a NON-INTEGER axis. A 2.5-hour booking cannot be partitioned into whole sub-units whose count equals the billed quantity.
- a product over
MAX_TWO_AXIS_SUB_UNITS. - a consumer
enumerateSubUnitswhose count disagrees with the billed product, or whose two-axis date-varying sub-units lack valid UTC anchors.
With one sub-unit, any qualification is wrong: resolveScalingQuantity reads
total_sub_units === 1 as "scale by the line's real quantity" and bills the
FULL two-axis product, and the percentage branch's ratio resolves to 1/1.
That is the original overcharge, so this refuses the quote instead — a
misconfiguration that inflates prices is worse than no quote.
Note it is broader than the pre-PLA-280 version, which only fired for a
method: "flat", scaling: "per_unit" action and therefore never covered the
percentage shape at all. Reaching this point already means the rule varies per
sub-unit, which makes ANY emitted qualification wrong regardless of action
shape — so the action check was never the right discriminator.

Error.stackstackTraceLimit
static stackTraceLimit: number;Defined in: ../node_modules/.pnpm/@types+node@24.13.3/node_modules/@types/node/globals.d.ts:68
The Error.stackTraceLimit property specifies the number of stack frames
collected by a stack trace (whether generated by new Error().stack or
Error.captureStackTrace(obj)).
The default value is 10 but may be set to any valid JavaScript number. Changes
will affect any stack trace captured after the value has been changed.
If set to a non-number value, or set to a negative number, stack traces will not capture any frames.

captureStackTrace()
static captureStackTrace(targetObject: object, constructorOpt?: Function): void;Defined in: ../node_modules/.pnpm/@types+node@24.13.3/node_modules/@types/node/globals.d.ts:52
Creates a .stack property on targetObject, which when accessed returns
a string representing the location in the code at which
Error.captureStackTrace() was called.
const myObject = {};
Error.captureStackTrace(myObject);
myObject.stack; // Similar to `new Error().stack`The first line of the trace will be prefixed with
${myObject.name}: ${myObject.message}.
The optional constructorOpt argument accepts a function. If given, all frames
above constructorOpt, including constructorOpt, will be omitted from the
generated stack trace.
The constructorOpt argument is useful for hiding implementation
details of error generation from the user. For instance:
function a() {
b();
}
function b() {
c();
}
function c() {
// Create an error without stack trace to avoid calculating the stack trace twice.
const { stackTraceLimit } = Error;
Error.stackTraceLimit = 0;
const error = new Error();
Error.stackTraceLimit = stackTraceLimit;
// Capture the stack trace above function b
Error.captureStackTrace(error, b); // Neither function c, nor b is included in the stack trace
throw error;
}
