Number of bookings skipped because a concurrent transition won the race:

• StaleBookingError — a confirm (or another sweeper) won the version-CAS race before the sweeper's updateIfVersion could commit.
• InvalidTransitionError — the sweeper's in-tx hydrate ran after the winner already committed, so machine.next("confirmed", "expire") sees the new status and rejects the transition outright. Both shapes are safe; neither allows a confirmed-but-non-blocking row.
